Cobia is a great game fish on rod and reel and even better when properly prepared and grilled. There are many different way to cook cobia and we hope that you like a few of these cobia recipes. These cobia receipes are for chefs of all skills, and as always, we recomend using fresh fillets, though quality frozen fillets work as well.

Grilled Cobia Recipe

Here are the ingredients you will need for this recipe:

Roughly 2.5 to 3 pounds of fresh cobia fillets

1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil

1 clove fresh garlic minced

1 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard

1/3 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice

3 pinches of fresh sea salt

1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper

Take the 2.5 to 3 pound cobia fillets and cut them in to serving sizes of roughly 8 to 10 ounces each. Place the cobia fillets in a glass container. Mix all ingredients in to a small bowl and mix generously and pour over fillets. Refrigerate fillets for about 5-10 minutes, remove and placed on preheated grill. Cook each side for roughly 4 to 5 minutes each over medium hot grill, brush remaining ingredients over fillets while cooking.

Deep Fried Cobia Recipe

Here are the ingredients you will need for this recipe:

1 1/2 to 2 lbs of cobia fillets

1- 8 oz box of House Autry Seafood breader

1 1/2 tablespoons fresh ground pepper

1 1/2 tablespoons of garlic salt

1 1/2 tablespoons of chipotle seasoning

Start by taking the cobia fillets and cutting them in to cubes. Next, combine breading and seasonings in to a one gallon ziplock bag and shake until mixed well. Add the cobia chunks and shake until coated well. Deep fry them in 375 degree oil until golden brown.

The only way to run a trail camera in a plot scenario is to use an external solar panel like the Moultrie Power Panel. The solar panel is easy to setup and connect any Moultrie game camera and in the long run will save money on disposable batteries.

Q. Why are round and oblong tanks best for keeping bait fish?

A. Fin fish used for bait naturally school in a circular pattern, so round and oblong tanks are the best choice. Sea World, The Monterey Bay Aquarium, and Scrips all design and build their tanks round or oblong. These shapes provide the most efficient use of space. Fish held in square or rectangular tanks will round off the corners when they school and swim in a round pattern in a square tank and oblong pattern in rectangular tank.

While your going over the gear you have and what you need to buy new or to replace existing worn out, pay special attention to your scope. Are the lenses still in good shape? Are any threads stripped? Does it hold the zero after you sight in? If not, you may need another scope.

Locating feeding fish is one of the most important skills a fisherman can develop. You can mark fish on your fish finder and not entice them to strike your lure if they are not in their "feeding zone"!

Most species of fish have a preffered temperature of water that they will actively feed in. Find this area of temperture with fish present and you will greatly increase your chances of catching fish. Remember, fish are cold blooded. In water too cold, fish will be dormant, sluggish and will not feed. In water too warm, they will be seeking a more comfortable environment. So, an understanding of how different temperatures of water break up will help.

At some time during my deer hunting “career” I grew weary of hunting normal sized bucks and developed an interest in shooting trophy bucks only. Let me share some advanced deer hunting tips about the differences between hunting regular deer and true monster bucks.
